->Furui's Double-Balloon Internal Shunt for Carotid Endarterectomy Inflating the balloons allows quick and complete hemostasis. Saline solution can be injected easily with the balloons. the spring-loaded valves keep the seal secure after inflation. The balloons stop bleeding, so there is no need to tighten tourniquets so much. There is no worry about injuring blood vessel even in lengthy operation will be achieved if the special VASCULAMPs are used in place of tourniquets. Smaller diameter shunt can be used for easy insertion and handling, with no need to worry about the gap between the lumen of carotid artery and the shunt tube. Selectition of finer shunt is available, which makes the blood vessel operation easier. When a stenotic lesion is located in a high position, the tourniquet or the special clamp around the internal carotid artery can be excluded so as to assure a large operating field. Three-way type shunt is more useful? for special use such as blood pressure measurement. |
